Andrei A. Stanghevskii

Andrey A. Stanzhevsky, Doctor of Medical Sciences, is Professor at the Department of Nuclear Medicine and Radiation Technologies of the V.A. Almazov National Medical Research Center and Deputy Director for Scientific Research at the A.M. Granov Russian Scientific Center of Radiology and Surgical Technologies. He is a leading Russian specialist in positron emission tomography (PET), particularly for neurology and psychiatry applications. Professor Stanzhevsky graduated with honors from the I.I. Mechnikov Sanitary-Hygienic Academy in 2000. He subsequently completed clinical residency (2000-2002) and postgraduate studies (2002-2005) at the Central Research Institute of Roentgenology and Radiology (now A.M. Granov Russian Scientific Center of Radiology and Surgical Technologies).

His academic research includes defending his Candidate of Medical Sciences dissertation (PhD) in 2004 on "Development of Methods for Multimodal Medical Image Fusion and Their Clinical Application" and his Doctor of Medical Sciences dissertation in 2010 (n "18F-Fluorodeoxyglucose Positron Emission Tomography in the Diagnosis of Epilepsy, Neurodegenerative Diseases, and Anxiety-Obsessive Disorders". Professor Stanzhevsky's scientific work focuses on advancing PET diagnostics in neurological and psychiatric conditions.
