Dr.Sci.Med., Professor of the Diagnostic Radiology and Radiotherapy Department of the Kursk State Medical University of the Ministry of Health of Russia (Kursk).

O. Okhotnikov holds the academic degree of Doctor of Medical Sciences and has been a Professor at the Department of Radiation Diagnostics and Therapy, Kursk State Medical University, since 2016. He graduated with honors from the Faculty of Medicine at Kursk State Medical Institute in 1989, with a degree in General Medicine. He completed his clinical residency and postgraduate studies at the same university, in the Department of Surgical Diseases No. 1.

Following a professional internship at the University Hospital of Rostock, Germany (1993), he established and headed a new department for Extracorporeal Lithotripsy and Minimally Invasive Surgery at the Regional Clinical Hospital. This department was reorganized in 2004 into the Department of X-ray Surgical Methods of Diagnosis and Treatment. Under his guidance, methods for remote and contact stone fragmentation in urolithiasis, as well as interventional procedures (diagnostic and therapeutic interventions under ultrasound and X-ray guidance), were actively developed. He holds the highest physician qualification category in both "Surgery" and "Ultrasound Diagnostics".

Research Activity:

• Candidate of Medical Sciences (PhD) dissertation in 1994 (Voronezh) on the topic: "Clinical and Morphological Aspects of Preventing Marginal Wound Necrosis during Phlebectomies".
• Doctor of Medical Sciences dissertation in 1998 (Voronezh) on the topic: "Percutaneous Interventions in Emergency Surgery of the Pancreatobiliary Zone Organs".
• Awarded the academic title of Professor in the Department of Surgical Diseases in 2002.
• Author of over 250 scientific and methodological publications and 13 inventions.

O. Okhotnikov is a member of the editorial board of the journal "Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology" and a member of the editorial council of the "Russian Journal of Oncology". For his contributions to healthcare, he was awarded the title "Honored Doctor of the Russian Federation" (2014) and received an Honorary Certificate from the Ministry of Health of Russia (2010).
