Dr.Sci.Med., Professor, Director of the Basic Research Laboratory "Diagnostic Research and Minimally Invasive Technologies" of the Smolensk State Medical University of the Ministry of Health of Russia; Head of the City Department of Diagnostic and Minimally Invasive Technologies at "Clinical Hospital No.1" (Smolensk).
Professor A. Borsukov, Doctor of Medical Sciences, currently holds the position of Professor at the Department of Faculty Therapy, Smolensk State Medical Academy.
A. Borsukov graduated from Smolensk State Medical Institute in 1988 and commenced clinical residency at the Department of Faculty Therapy that same year. In 1990, he entered postgraduate studies in Internal Medicine within the same department.
He defended Candidate of Medical Sciences dissertation (PhD) in 1994 on "Tactical Approaches to Examining Patients with Focal Liver Lesions Using Ultrasound Tomography", followed by Doctor of Medical Sciences dissertation in 2001: "Diagnosis of Focal Liver Lesions and Methodological Principles of Ultrasound-Guided Therapy" (defended at Smolensk State Medical Academy).
A. Borsukov was one of the first in the Central Federal District to introduce ultrasound navigation for puncture biopsies and sclerotherapy of liver, kidney and thyroid cysts. He is the author of over 250 scientific publications.
A. Borsukov began his teaching career as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Faculty Therapy of Smolensk State Medical Academy in 1993. Since 2006, he has held the position of a professor at this Department.
