Dolgushin Boris Ivanovich graduated from theFaculty of Medicine of the State Medical Institute named after N.I. Pirogov. After graduating from the university he studied in clinical residency and postgraduate studies at the Oncology Research Center of the Academy of Medical Sciences of the USSR. In 1980, he completed his Ph.D. thesis on "Angiographic Diagnosis of Secondary Liver Tumors." In 1989 he defended his dissertation for a Doctor Med. Sci. on "Abdominal angiography in comprehensive diagnosis of tumors in children."
Since 1996, B.I. Dolgushin has been appointed head of the radiology department of Russian Oncology Scientific Center, since 2001. - Deputy Director of Science at the Research Institute of Clinical Oncology of the Russian Oncology Research Center named after N. N. Blokhin of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences.
In 2014, B.I. Dolgushin was elected director of the Institute of Clinical and Experimental Radiology and deputy director of the Russian Oncology Scientific Center. Under the leadership of B.I. Dolgushin employs more than 600 employees, including 30 professors and Cand.Med.Sci and more than 40 Doc.Med.Sci, half of the team - specialists with higher medical and technical education.
In 2004, Professor B.I. Dolgushin was elected chairman of the Diagnostic and Therapeutic Interventional Radiology Commission of the Scientific Council of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences and the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, and in 2006 he became the President of " Society of Interventional Oncoradiologists of Russia and the professor in the Department of Radiology and Radiology of RMANPO.
In 2007, B.I. Dolgushin was elected a member-correspondent of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences, in 2016 he was elected a full member (academician) of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
Author of more than 360 scientific papers, including 11 monographs: "Spleen Tumors," "Vascular and intraorganic stenting (endoprosthesis)," "Endobiliar interventional oncoradiology," "Antegradarialendobilarian interventions in oncology" , "Radiofrequency thermoablation of liver tumors" etc., two manuals, atlas, sections in textbooks of methodical recommendations, inventions, educational and methodical films
Boris Ivanovich has prepared 29 candidates and 7 doctors of medical sciences.
B.I. Dolgushin was awarded the Medal "In Memory of the 850th Anniversary of Moscow" (1997), the Medal of the Order of Merit to the Fatherland II Degree (2002), winner of the Russian Government Prize in Science and Technology (2002), winner of the N.N. Petrov Prize for Best Prize scientificwork on oncology in 2009, was awarded the Order of Friendship (2021).
