RADIOTHERAPY
The possibility of using three-dimensional reconstructed treatment planning radically changed the principles of treating Gynecological cancers with the help of conformal radiotherapy, and in brachytherapy as well. The goal of these progressive changes is to improve clinical outcomes. To obtain a high level of effectiveness, it is necessary to solve a number of organizational problems.
The problem of the multiple primary malignancies (MPMs) is an urgent problem in modern clinical oncology due to the growth of the number of patients with MPMs and unsolved treatment issues. The multiple primary malignancies in lung cancer patients present a common cancer case requiring an individual differentiated treatment approach. The treatment outcomes depend on the tumor extension, stage and spare capacity of the patient. The clinical case of the patient with metachronous MPMs in one lung is considered here.
Modern radiation therapy is performed on a complex equipment which demands highly qualified staff. In Russian Federation nowadays in radiological departments work mainly nurses who got their skills right on the working place. In this article is reviewed the training program for specialists who are aimed to work in radiological departments (RTTs), is described our own experience and are suggested some variants of further development of RTT training program.
